The Liberation 229 folder from Ramon Chaves’ Ultramar line-up is a frame-lock knife that has the classic Ramon Chaves skull stonewashed finished titanium pocket clip and titanium frame, caged bearings for a smooth action with the flip of a thumb on the thumb stud, and stonewashed M390 Tanto blade and titanium hardware. It also includes a plain titanium pocket clip without the skull.
Chaves Knives are crafted for heavy duty use and made with the some of finest materials for durability and edge retention. More than just a functional knife, a serious cutting tool that will last a lifetime.
The Chaves Ultramar line is committed to creating durable, stylish, and premium knives and tools
Each model from the Ultramar line was designed by USA-based knife maker Ramon Chaves. His designs have become popular because of their rugged and ergonomic construction, and this production line creates them in larger quantities and at a more accessible price.
This line is manufactured by Reate using the best materials available and exacting standards of excellence. Because of their quality, issues like blade play, stiff action, and lock stick do not affect Chaves knives. Models are made in small batches, so if one speaks to you, don’t wait around on it. Once it’s gone, may be a while before it’s back.
I love making knives because it is so gratifying to turn raw materials into something useful, and to know that people appreciate the effort that I put into their knife. Thanks to all my customers who have supported me and my work. Lorrie and I appreciate every one of you. – Ramon Chaves
